5 Tips to Protect Your Skin from Burning Sunrays

However, overexposure to the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays can harm your health in a number of ways. It has the ability to harm your eyesight, skin, and more. The sunscreen that you choose must offer an SPF of 30 or higher.  Cover all exposed regions of your body with it, including your scalp, ears, and back of your neck. If you’re going swimming, reapply sunscreen lotion every two hours or earlier. Also, make sure the sunscreen you’re using isn’t expired.

3. Wearing Brimmed-Hat

A wide-brimmed hat provides additional protection by shading your face, ears, and back of your neck. Wearing a baseball hat cannot work because it only shadows your face and the top of your head and doesn’t provide enough protection. And, if for some reason you don’t want to wear a hat, apply high-quality sunscreen to your scalp if you have weak hair.

4. Wear the Right Clothes

When undertaking any activity that needs you to be out in the sun for extended periods of time, wear clothing that covers your body. Also, prefer wearing clothes that are lightweight. Long-sleeved shirts can be a better option when going out in skin-burning summer. These days, there is a range of lightweight and breathable materials available on the market that may make you feel comfortable while still protecting you.

5. Avoid the sun at prime time

If possible, avoid going out during the afternoon peak hours. It’s better to stay indoors during these hours, but if for some reason you need to be outside, seek cover or avoid being in the sun for extended periods. If going out in sun is part of your everyday routine, then utilize the advice stated above to keep your skin safe during the harsh summer season.
